‘Teachers give the world to their students, so we’re giving back to them.’ – Verizon

Verizon is an American wireless network operator. It is the second-largest wireless carrier in the United States. Verizon has realized the importance of teachers and how vital it is for them to have unlimited data plans, especially in a world where teaching from home has become the ‘norm’.

If you are a teacher looking for the Verizon Teacher Discount. You are in the right place. Here, you will get everything about Verizon Teacher Discount.

What Does Verizon Offer for Eligible Teachers?

The company has a variety of discounts available for all kinds of educators, from K-12 teachers to college and university faculty. Through Verizon’s Teacher Discount Program, teachers can get a 20% discount on their monthly phone plan.

Teachers with at least one smartphone or primary phone on one or more of these plans are eligible for a special discount from Verizon. The qualifying service plan that educators choose to enroll in will determine the program’s cost. As of now, Verizon Wireless offers four teacher discounts.

You must be employed full-time at an authorized K–12 school or educational institution in the United States and have a working school email address to be eligible. It’s important to remember that the Verizon 20% teacher discount is only valid during specific periods of the year. Known as the “teacher appreciation discount,” it typically occurs in August and May.

Verizon is one of the top cell phone providers in the U.S. You can qualify for a Verizon monthly service discount if you are employed in the education sector. You might also be eligible for discounts on specific Verizon devices and accessories.

Eligibility for the Verizon Teacher Discount

Many teachers and other education professionals can receive discounts on their phone bills through Verizon. These include a discount on the entry-level plan and additional savings for union or professional organization members.

More so, additional discounts are available to individuals who work for an institution that is a member of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), American Federation of School Administrators (AFSA), or National Education Association (NEA), which are organizations that represent educators in the United States.

You must present documentation proving that you are actively working as a teacher at one of these institutions or organizations to be eligible for the Verizon teacher discount. To prove it, you may be required to send a picture of your pay stub or contact Verizon directly to confirm your job via phone or online.

A 15% discount is available to teachers and faculty on their Verizon Wireless phone bill. You’ll save money immediately if you use more than 5 GB of data monthly because the discount also applies to data plans.

  • The discount can only be applied to one line of service and cannot be combined with any other offers.

  • Teachers can save up to 15% off a monthly cell phone plan.

  • Both new and existing customers can use it. Current clients must register over the phone or online.

  • To qualify for the teacher discount, you must be employed by a public or private K–-12 school, college, or university in the United States, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, or Guam.

  • Home school teachers who teach students in kindergarten through twelfth grade.

  • University professors in the U.S.

  • Administrators of private or public K-12 schools in the U.S.

  • Private and public elementary, middle, and high school teachers in the U.S.

When you enroll online, Verizon teacher discounts ought to be applied immediately. However, you’ll need to contact Verizon customer service to seek the discount if you’re a client and it hasn’t been used.

What is the Verizon teacher discount worth?

As long as you keep your plan, the Verizon teacher discount will save you 25% on the monthly service fee for one smartphone line on an eligible plan. This is true based on a comparison between Verizon’s $60/month 4G LTE smartphone plan and its $80/month plan, which includes 16 GB of shared data for four lines.

The Verizon teacher discount can be used with senior citizen and military discounts offered by Verizon Wireless but not with other employee discounts. Discounts on Verizon cell phone plans and some accessories are available to teachers. International calling, broadband access, and unlimited speaking and text are all included in the discounts.
