PESB appoints Debi Prasad Satpathy as Director of HR of BEML —

The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has announced the selection of Debi Prasad Satpathy as the Director of Human Resources for BEML, as approved by the selection panel on March 11, 2024.

Satpathy, currently serving as the Executive Director of HR at BEML, was one of the 11 candidates considered for the selection. Announcing the selection the PSU posted, “BEML Ltd is pleased to announce the appointment of Shri Debi Prasad Satpathy as the Director (HR), following his selection by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel. The appointment shall be for a period of five years from the date of joining or up to the date of superannuation or until further orders, whichever is earlier”

In his new role, Satpathy brings over three decades of HR leadership experience across manufacturing and mining sectors. This marks his second stint with BEML; previously, he joined the company in 2011 as the Assistant General Manager of HR and was later elevated to Deputy General Manager of HR in 2014. Before returning to BEML, Satpathy served as the General Manager of HR at Odisha Mining Corporation. At the beginning of his career, he worked with Hindustan Paper Corporation Ltd in various leadership roles for 13 years.

On the academic front, Satpathy holds a Master’s degree in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management from the Department of Industrial Relations & Personnel Management, and a Bachelor’s degree in Science from Khallikote University. His core competencies include strategic industrial relations, employee engagement, learning and development, talent acquisition, business development, change management, contract management, and general administration.
