Moody’s, a global provider of integrated perspectives on risk including credit ratings, analytical solutions, and insights has appointed Durga Bhavani as MD and head of its global capability centers (GCC) in India. The capability centers provide critical component support for a wide range of data, research, and analytical tasks.

In this role, she will be responsible for leading the execution of capability center strategy and local leadership objectives across all Moody’s India locations. Previously, she was an Associate Managing Director and the service delivery leader for global corporate, project, infrastructure, and structured finance associate teams based out of Costa Rica, India, and Lithuania.

Moody’s currently operates three global capability centers located in India, Costa Rica, and Lithuania that support Moody’s global business operations as well as other shared service functions such as IT, corporate affairs, finance, and human resources.

The India GCC boasts a diverse team of over 2,300 employees across various locations in India.

Durga joined Moody’s in 2006 and was a lead analyst in Moody’s Ratings EMEA Structured Finance team based in London until 2012, covering European asset-backed securities and esoterics. Durga became a Senior Vice President at Moody’s Analytics Knowledge Services, managing client relationships and overseeing delivery for key quantitative research engagements. She returned to Moody’s in 2015 in her current role when MIS Support Center was set up in India. Before her current role at Moody’s, Durga worked at CRISIL (an S&P subsidiary), and in GE Capital’s risk management division.

Durga is a champion of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. She is the Executive Sponsor for India Women’s BRG and has led many strategic initiatives for CSR in India.

Durga has a master’s degree in Business Administration (specializing in Finance) and a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
