Boeing names Nikhil Joshi as MD of Boeing Defense India —

The US-based aerospace company, Boeing, has announced the appointment of Nikhil Joshi as the Managing Director of Boeing Defense India (BDI), with immediate effect.

In his new role, Nikhil brings over three decades of experience in the defence industry. He had served as the Country Manager at Eaton for more than five years and also as an Indian Navy Commander for over 22 years. On the academic front, Nikhil holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Jawaharlal Nehru University, a Bachelor’s degree from the National Defence Academy, and a Master of Business Administration degree in Strategy and Marketing from the Indian School of Business.

Nikhil will be based in New Delhi, and work directly with Salil Gupte, President of Boeing in India and South Asia. He will be responsible for strengthening Boeing’s presence in the Indian aerospace sector, working closely with Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS), and Boeing Global Services (BGS). Additionally, he will lead BDI’s initiatives to enhance the mission readiness and modernization of India’s defence forces.

Salil welcomed Nikhil to the BDI’s leadership team, stating, “Efficient solutions, timely support, and flawless execution are critical elements of the commitment to our customers and the Indian aerospace and defence industry. We welcome Nikhil to Boeing India and look forward to collaborating to support our customers with their future requirements.”

Welcoming Nikhil to the executive team, Scott Carpendale, VP of BGS-GS Asia Pacific, added, “We are delighted to welcome Nikhil to our team. His wealth of experience and strong leadership will drive our growth strategy in India and strengthen our commitment to continue serving our defence customers in the country.”
