    India to begin G20 Presidency in style from Bali; G20 Global Icon Awards to be presented

    Global Icon Awards will be given away to deserving Indians at a function to be held at the Royal Palace in Bali this month

    Post-assuming the Presidency mantle, India will begin its G20 journey from Indonesia’s Bali on January 26, the nation’s Republic Day. The Global Economic Forum G20 initiative summit will get underway in Bali from January 24 to 26, and it would also be the occasion for the presentation of the Global Icon Awards to deserving Indians from all walks of life.

    The Global Icon Awards ceremony will be organized at the Royal Palace in Bali, with influential political, commercial, cultural, educational, and other leaders coming together. A range of topics, relating to regional, national, international and industry aspects would also be part of the event.

    The programme schedule for the Global Economic Forum G20 initiative summit at Bali was released by Dr Kiran Mazumdar Shaw (Founder Chairman of Biocon) Mr Gyan Bhusan (Senior Economic Advisor Ministry of Tourism Govt. of India) and Mr Dr DM Chandra Mohan (IAS Principal Secretary Tourism, Culture and Religious Department Government of Tamilnadu) in the run-up to the mega event.

    Over the next 11 months from now, India will bring to the fore G20 initiatives and organize summits across all G20 countries. The concluding celebration summit has been planned to be organized in New Delhi on November 30, 2023, the last day of the G20 Presidency role of India.

    The Global Icon Awards event will have participants from the public and private sectors, non governmental organisations, and academic institutions.

    Top leaders from the Indonesian administration are to grace the occasion on January 25thbetween 6 pm and 9 pm when the participants will come together at the Royal Palace in Bali. Among the dignitaries will be Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, Minister of Industry, Republic of Indonesia; I Wayan Koster, Governor of Bali; and Dr Shri I Gusti Ngurah Arya Wedakarna Mahendradatta Wedasteraputra Suyasa, Senator –  Member of the Indonesian Regional Representative Council and Galuh Bilen – Balinese Actress and Influencer.  Top luminaries from the country will also be part of the get-together. 

    The G20 event will focus on entrepreneurship that would prove beneficial to society and would uphold the highest moral, intellectual and governmental integrity standards. In attendance will be organisations that hail from the private as well as public domain, non-governmental bodies and academic institutions of repute. 

    The Global Economic Forum has as its focus, the ushering in of digital transformation into the lives of every human being in the next 10 years. This is with the aim of ensuring that no one is deprived of the benefits the new technologies offer.

    Going by the words of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, G20 leaders would work towards ushering in digital transformation into the life of every human being in the next 10 years so that no person is deprived of the benefits of the new technologies. The principle of ‘data for development’ will be an integral part of the overall theme of India’s upcoming G-20 Presidency.

    Deserving Indians have been extended the invitation to be part of the G20 Global Icon Award. Digpu News is the official media partner for the Global Icon Awards ceremony.
