St. Thomas University Global has announced the launch of a $0 May Term for 2026, designed to give eligible students an accessible pathway to start or continue an online undergraduate degree.

The term, which begins on 2 May 2026, will fully fund one course, covering tuition, fees, textbooks, and all required resources. Students can take part without facing hidden costs or financial commitments.

With millions of adults holding incomplete college qualifications, educational institutions are seeking more flexible and low-risk ways to support learners in returning to study and completing their degrees.

“For many students, the biggest barrier is not ability or motivation, it is the uncertainty around cost,” said Clyde Lewis, Ed.D., Associate Vice President for Financial Aid and Student Services. “This gives students a clear, immediate way to begin without delay and without having to navigate a complex financial decision first.”

The May Term is open to prospective, returning, and re-engaging students who meet the usual undergraduate admission standards. Due to its intensive format, it is not covered by federal financial aid, though students can enrol and complete the course at no personal cost.

“Higher education often asks students to make a financial commitment before they fully understand the experience,” said Diego Britto, Senior Vice President for Administration and Chief Financial Officer. “This approach reverses that dynamic by allowing students to begin with no financial exposure.”

All study options are delivered fully online through an asynchronous system, ideal for those balancing work and other commitments. Students are supported throughout their studies by dedicated success coaches.

STU Global offers bachelor’s degree programmes in areas such as Business Management, Finance, Marketing Management, Sports Administration, Organisational Leadership, and Catholic Education, each designed to meet current industry needs while emphasising ethics and leadership.
